Memory Stick Recorders: Sony IC Recorder ICD-MS525
The Sony Memory Stick was introduced in 1998, its basically just a form of flash memory. I have been an enthusiastic user of a Sony IC Recorder ICD-MS525 since 2004. This model I think was introduced in 2003 and uses a memory stick for the recording media.
Sample: In the Market in Jaipur January 2006. Sony Sony IC Recorder ICD-MS525
Sony IC Recorder ICD-MS525

The big disadvantage of this recorder is the sound quality is not actually very good, its intended to do the job of a Dictaphone. But, it is small, has a built in microphone, and is extremely convenient for purposes where quality is not vital.

For more on the Memory Stick see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_stick.
