| Emergency Appeal for Blankets.
Dear Friend and Supporter,
Greetings from Bodhgaya.
Northern India, and Bihar
in particular has been hit by an unprecented cold wave with
record cold temperatures. Gaya town has recorded a low of 2.4
degree C, and it is just above freezing in the Villages. This
weather is set to continue for some time, with even colder temperatures
forecast. Many of our children attending our schools don’t ever
possess sweaters or warm clothing, although we have given what
we can. All schools in Delhi and all over North India have been
either closed due to the extreme weather, or the times re-adjusted.
We have also changed the times of all our schools. Over 1000
people have reported to have died from the cold but no accurate
figures are available For Bihar. Due to the urgent
need the Trust has already purchased and distributed many Blankets.
We are aware of the most
generous support of all over supporters and that most, if not
all are giving as much as they are able to give already; but
if you can help, or know of anyone who can be of assistance
with this emergency appeal and help save some children lives,
we would be most grateful to you.
Any amount No matter how
small will help, as we also plan to buy scarves and Woolen
Hats, anything to help keep the Children Warm. A Scarf costs
only 50 pence, or 70 US Cents and, a Blanket costs only 3 GBP
or 5 USD. Please send any Donation to People First International
at the Usual Address,
