MCC Extremists Hold Torch Light March
Gaya, 22 October. (Dainik
Jagran). The banned extremist organisation the MCC [Maoist Communist
Council] held a torch light march last night in the hope of ensuring
the success of the Kolkata [Calcutta] convention. In the village of
Mathurapur in the extremist effected area of Gurua precinct slogans
were shouted in support of the MCC.[ Report goes on to describe how
several dozen MCC members held an all night vigil in the Mathurapur
village area and took out a march holding torches [flaming ones not
flashlights] and shouting slogans. The report says this is all in view
of a national conference in Kolkota to be held on the 26th and 27th
in which it is possible that Naxalite leaders from Bihar will take part.
Furthermore it is proposed by the Bihar police that they will send secret
agents to the conference to identify the MCC representatives:-PGF]
