Meeting in Delhi over
Bodhgaya Development
Bodhgaya, 26 September (Dainik Jagran). The tourism ministry has announced a meeting on the integrated development of the Mahabodhi temple and a conference following the inclusion of the Mahabodhi temple in the world heritage listing. The chairmanship of the meeting will be performed by the central tourism minister Jagmohan. In the meeting will be not only the District Commissioner on behalf of the Mahabodhi Temple Management Committee but also Brajesh Mehotra the chairman of auxiliary Temple Management Committee. Along with them the Bihar State Tourism Minister and officials from the Archaeological Survey will be present. This information was given by Bodhipal the monk-in-charge of the Committee. In Bodhgaya the Block officer Ravibhasan said that a report on the government land that surrounds the temple had been prepared and handed over to the District Commissioner. It is notable that the current Temple Management Committee has outlined several plans for the development of the Mahabodhi temple. Amongst these works are the construction of a ceremonial gateway (torana) near the temple, development of the meditation gardens in the compound, the installation of a fountain in the Muchalinda pond. It is possible that work to make manifest the forms of all the planned schemes may be begun after November. |
